Los Angeles Convention Center*

Los Angeles Convention Center

The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) is one of the largest Convention Centers in the country, with over 720,000 square feet of exhibition space, 147,000 square feet of meeting space and a 299 seat theater. In addition to its size, the LACC is known for several beautiful features. These include a map of the world that covers the entire floor of the main lobby and a map of constellations that covers the floor of the upstairs lobby.

The Convention Center was designed by Charles Luckman and opened its doors in 1971 and has since undergone two expansions. And it's not just a venue for trade shows and conventions, it's a pop culture landmark. It's been featured in movies such as "Face/Off" and "Rush Hour," and video games such as SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Several notable events are hosted at the LACC each year. Among them are E3, The Greater Los Angeles Car Show, Erotica-LA, The Anime Expo, and as of 2008, the Governor's Ball following the Primetime Emmys. In the last year, big events have included the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the California Gift Show, Adobe MAX, Microsoft Professional Developer's Conference, Yu-Gi-Oh SJC and the LA Auto Show.
